Dearest New Companion,

I would like to start off my letter to you with an apology, as I know from experience there is a chance that you wish you didn't have to be here. I regret to inform you that going home is likely not an option. It may be, but it also may not be. I am not responsible for this fact; my apologies.

I'd like to introduce myself to you, both in person and in written format. I've asked that these letters, like the notes you received earlier, are magicked to be read by anyone with any language abilities. My name is Genette, and I'm from a country called Hagios on planet Earth. My official title is Autmous Genette Aut Barlas. In your world, a Mous is akin to a "servant" - AUTmous denotes that I am a "precious servant." I am proficient in singing, playing the Ilaes (akin to your "guitar"), and handicrafts. The magic that has been bestowed upon me is healing, which I can do through touch. If you have any physical ailments, please come and see me.

I'm 26 now, and I've been traveling worlds for almost a year now. I haven't been home once since I was taken, though I have learned to make the most of it. I implore that you do the same.

Now that we're acquainted, I want to give you an introduction to your position here. I've been told to give this information to you specifically by Qri (more on this subject further into the letter).

First, I must explain the mechanics of magic to you. While you may have your own magic from home, magic isn't the same in every universe or on every planet. Across all universes, a magical vibration exists that allows magic to permeate the nature of existence. On some planets, this level is very low, which means magic typically cannot permeate existence. This is the case for the world you're occupying now. This means that any magic you had previously still exists within you, but the vibration of the universe isn't allowing it to permeate existence. This may not be the same in all universes.

(I did not possess magic in my home country, so I can't offer you any personal experience or anecdotes about this issue.)

You've been taken here because Qri, my temporary Autfil, needs your help. I premise this writing by personally telling you I'm not fully aware of the details of the mechanics involved with this process but am dictating what she has instructed me to.

Qri comes from a species of elevated mages. They're quickly dying out and require certain energy in order to survive, but this energy is becoming rarer and harder to obtain across universes. More planets and peoples are finding ways to solidify this energy in order to create magic, while other universes are simply more apt at generating this energy than others. My personal experience has been that this energy can be farmed from certain resources, tangible and intangible. We have been tasked with locating and harvesting these resources in order to resupply her with the magical energy she needs to continue existing.

She has expelled a certain amount of energy as part of an insurance policy. At first she believed that the energy needed would be easily found through just one person (Brie), and then two (myself). However, this has proven to not be the case. She has also expelled energy in order to give you a failsafe magic that can help you invest energy back into her, as well as protect yourself on other planes that we visit.

Some of these universes, planets, etc. will prove to be dangerous! I personally choose to stay out of fighting and other confrontational methods of interaction, which you may also choose to do the same. It is my belief that we all have a place within this coven, and mine is to be a healer and servant to those around me, as is in my duty as an Autmous. It is up to you to decide your own place here, which is preferably whatever position you believe renders you most helpful.

We both implore you - as much as you wish to go home, it is impossible at this moment. In order to return home, we must all work hard to bring back this energy to Qri so that she can continue to exist. I've been assured that her existence is very vital to the sanctity of all universes, including your own. Even if you were to go back home, it is only a matter of time before her energy runs out and the fate of many different planes and planets will hang in the balance.

I plead with you personally. I have a very important duty to fulfill on my home planet. If you too wish to return to loved ones and the life you are used to, you will help us.

It is now time to communicate in person. Your telepathic powers have capabilities beyond simply hearing voices in your head, though I'm sure some of you have discovered this power already. I have supplied you with a portion of a mirror. Please hold up this mirror to your face and concentrate on showing the space around you what you see. This is an example of visual communication through telepathy, and also identifies you as a person. Please do this after you finish this letter.
